The bump: Is made up of this kid's backside. Seriously. He's head down and then likes to lodge his feet under my ribs and stick his butt out. Basically my kid is mooning you all.
How far along: 36 weeks!
How big is baby: From The Bump - Your baby's the size of a honeydew! He's still in the 17.2- to 18.7-inch and 4.2- to 5.8-pound range and continues to beef up. He's getting closer and closer to being able to breathe on his own. His skin is getting smooth and soft and his gums are rigid. His liver and kidneys are in working order. Circulation and immune systems are basically good to go, too.
Weight gain/loss: I'm up .8 pounds from last week for a total of 24.2 pounds gained.
Stretch marks/Belly Button: I actually have this really tender spot next to my belly button. It feels like a bruise, but I swear the other day I felt this hard ball that then rolled away. I'm guessing it's from him kicking the same spot, tearing, or a hernia. Yay! I'm just going to ask at my appointment on Wednesday.
Sleep: It's ok-ish. I do have to get up more to pee now, but usually I can sleep through the night.
Diet/Cravings/Aversions: Peaches and salads. I've yet to actually have a salad yet.
Movement: All the time. I also think he's getting as tired of having hiccups as I am of him having them.
Symptoms: Cankles, Bloody Nose, Rib Numbness, Midback pain. The back pain is really what gets me the most. I have a pillow on my chair at work to help, but basically either need to lay down or be at this perfect angle that makes doing anything difficult. It's also hard to do in my office since I don't have the ab strength to do it in my office chair. I even resorted to laying on an ice pack on my office floor. It felt fabulous.
What I'm looking forward to: The end? I actually get to see all my maternity pictures and next week we have a blogger baby shower happening for our group of pregnant bloggers.
How I'm feeling: Uncomfortable and grumpy and I'm sure it's just going to get worse from here. I'm trying to take it easy and listen to my body. This weekend I wanted to get so much done, but Saturday my body told me hell to the no, and I spent the whole day laying down. We eventually made it out to dinner and a movie and it almost killed me. (Not really) I did sleep all the way until 8:45 the next morning so I know I was wiped out!
