I'm in NYC!

Good morning from the Big Apple! I arrived yesterday after a crack of dawn flight. (Who thought 6 am flights were a good idea?) I did end up spending about 45 minutes on the tarmac at LGA. I ended up texting Stephanie to check the weather for me. I was NOT about to be one of those news stories where the people were on there with no AC and overflowing toilets for 4 hours. We were saved and I met up with Kate and Rose to share a car over to the hotel. We had an interesting driver that I don't think spoke any English. Or at least very little. Even though I told him the Hilton when he asked about 6th Avenue, when we got there it was like he was surprised that we wanted to go to a hotel! We ended up getting out and having to walk across the street. There was also one point where he almost missed a green light because he was texting.Yeah.

I also got to meet up with my roomies for the first time: Kathleen, Colleen her sister who doesn't blog, and Joann.

Joann and I then saw the sights, Macy's and H&M. Oh and we also ventured on in to Times Square accidentally and were all, Oh wait! We're in Times Square!

While there we so a fake Snoop Dog (I checked he was at his concert in New Hampshire at the time. Now I'm not mad that I didn't take a picture of him) and some old guy blatantly tried to take a picture of my boobs.

I had my first New York hotdog.

No New York trip is complete without the Naked Cowboy.

We wandered around to find something to eat and ended up at Junior's. I amused the manager by exclaiming, that's one big pile of meat!

and then I ate the big pile of meat and it was delicious! (Open faced roast beef sandwich)

We also got cheesecake to take back to the hotel with us and devoured it in the middle of the night.

This may be the only conference update I give, depending on time. We've got some sightseeing to do today, some events and OBAMA is going to live stream with us! Awesome day ahead and already and awesome start to my first BlogHer!

  1. Faith it was great meeting you!
That particular cab driver was not going to spare any man, woman or child or bus! As we all pointed to the left to get him to turn into the hotel, I suspect it was in the best of our interests to get out in the rain and head across the street!
