We've been back from our trip for almost two weeks now so it's about time I post something about it other than our hellacious experience about missing our flight to Prague. I also wrote that post on my cellphone after only a few hours of sleep so sorry if parts didn't make sense.
John was great about keeping a trip journal the whole time we were gone so I'm going to actually use his words to describe our trip along with pictures that I took. I'll throw in a comment here and there, but I've been told that I'm not allowed to change anything he's written. We'll see how it goes.
I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed our trip despite a few hiccups along the way and the realization of how hard it can be to travel with someone you love. It was always great to see John's reaction to something once I finally got him across the city to see something that I had to swear up and down to that it was worthwhile. I have a deep love and appreciation for for these places (especially Rome) and I'm glad I got to share it with John and experience them again.
I absolutely fell in love with Prague. I'm kicking myself for having not gotten myself there sooner (and for the plane debacle that cost us a day). We got to SEE the whole city, but I would love to go back and spend more time there and to get to go inside some of the places we saw. The city has such a rich history and is pretty much intact despite all the civil and governmental changes and even the longest occupation of any country by the Nazis. It's also totally random, but the latest Victoria's Secret Angels commercial was filmed in Prague. I would have never have guessed it if we hadn't gone. Sometimes that's my favorite thing about getting to travel. A scene in a movie or even a lingerie commercial can bring back such great memories of a place. John can also join me in the, "I've been there," that we usually throw out to each other.
