What's Going on in the Garden

My cucumbers died so I decided to start them again in a container and they're doing great so far.

The tomatoes are also doing great, even if they are taking over.

There are a ton of little green tomatoes all over the plants.

The plants have gotten so large and wild I've had to start tying them to eachother to keep them upright.

They're also tied in various places to the chicken wire.

Tying them has also helped to give the pepper plants some more breathing room.

This pepper plant I uprooted and moved to the other side of the garden to help it out some air. It looks very sad in this picture, but a week later it's still alive so I guess it's working!

The jalapeno plants have learned to cope with the tomato plants invading their space and have started to grow taller.

I've also uprooted the entire other end of the garden. The squash plants weren't producing anymore so it was time to go.

I'll probably do a fall planing in September, but haven't decided what I'll grow yet.

And of course, the garden is still full of bugs.

  1. We have baby tomotoes coming out of our ears!?! Your garden looks good. Hope the cucumbers make it.

  2. Our tomato plants are looking jungle-like as well. Justin thinks he wants to do a separate bed just for tomatoes next year because they are TAKING OVER everything else. I'm interested to hear what you plant for fall--I'll probably at least do some more lettuce once it cools down a bit, but I'm up for trying other things too!
