Ten on Tuesday

1. What book, movie or song has made you want to travel to a particular place? (eg. I went to Prince Edward Island because I was such a Anne of Green Gables fan)
I would probably totally do the whole Eat, Pray, Love thing. I'd take John with me though.

2. Aside from your significant other, who would you want to take with you on a dream trip?
Pleading the 5th because someone would probably get mad that I wasn't taking them. It'd be a tough decision though.

3. Where would said dream trip be to?
Tahiti or Fiji - if I could take John. If it was a friend probably Europe.

4. If you were hosting guests or providing tips, what three things would you show visitors to your hometown? (be it where you live now or where you grew up)
Awesome Mexican and or home cooking food off the tourist path.
The River Walk because that's what everyone wants to see.
Then maybe Fredericksburg to get out of San Antonio and do wine tasting.

5. If you had a long weekend ahead of you, where you head – beach, city or country/mountains?
Sad to say at this moment I'd stay put and try to get the million things on my to do list done.

6. Do you have a passport? If so, did you get it for a particular trip or just to have, in case?
I do, I just don't know where it is at the moment, it's expired and it's also in my maiden name. I got it for my high school Italy trip, used it again for my study abroad in college and then again for my honeymoon in Jamaica.

7. Are there any travel souvenirs you collect? If not, is there something else you collect?
Postcards, shot glasses and thimbles.

8. If you could name a paint colour, what colour would it be and what would you call it?
Ummm...blue?

9. If you were heading away for a weekend citybreak solo, where would you go? (forget about practicality here and flight times, assume you can get to any city in the world for the weekend)
Chicago.

10. Is there a song or a smell or something that you strongly associate with a particular holiday/place/time, such that it always takes you back?
Not really. There are a lot of comforting smells like apple pie, spiced things do remind me of the holidays though.

  1. I did just what you suggested - I stayed put (in London) for our long weekend just gone. My friends consider this certifiable behaviour but it was bliss to get so many things done and have time to spare.
