On My Nightstand

It's a new link up top. I've found a better way to share what I've read, am currently reading or planning to read. Lets just say that I read a lot. Like a lot a lot. I love to tell people what I read, but I read so much and move on so quickly that I often forget. If you take a look at my list you'll see I also pretty much like everything I read. There are few books that I've had a hard time to get into. One being The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I tried and I just couldn't do it. It also took me about 4 attempts to read Catch-22. I also hated every last minute of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. I've never just straight up given up on a book though.

More than half of what's on the list are what I've read since I started my 101 in 1001 last year. I've made an attempt to stop buying (John and I are seriously running out of space on our bookshelves) and check out more books from the library. I love to own books though. It's almost like an obsession. I love buying books almost as much as I love buying clothes. I recently discovered that I can find just about any book I want online at our library. (As on obsessive book buyer my knowledge of the public library was a little scant) I can reserve it online and usually in about a week or so I'll have a copy to pick up at my local branch. It's kind of nice really. I'm also scouring Half Price and entering books that I want to read into my phone so I can reserve them later from the library. I've got a nice little system worked out now. Let's just hope that I can keep my buying obsession at bay.

ETA: Yeah, I'm also compulsive with my authors. If I like one of their books, I will pretty much ready everything they've ever written.

  3. Ditto to pretty much this entire post. I've never finished Catch-22.

Also, I LOVE Paperback Swap. I get to keep the books that I really like, but I'm having to give up some others in order to GET the ones that I really like.
