Playing Catch Up!

Ok first off the big one - I lost 2.5 pounds last week! I wish every week could be the first week in WW. You always loose so much the very first week. It's like I wish I could lose and then maintain and then the next week lose what I lost the first week. Never happens, but oh well - 2.5 pounds down!

I finished Northanger Abbey. I've found that I really like her older books a lot better than the others. I still have Sense and Sensibility to finish. I haven't found it in Half Price so I may just have to go out and buy one from Barnes and Nobel or Borders.

With that, I started a non Jane Austen book - Water for Elephants. I LOVE IT. I can't put it down! I don't know if it's kind of a relief to not read Jane or what, but it's such a nice, easy read and it's so interesting. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I also tried 2 new restaurants. One was in Meander (I "think" that's the name of the city). It's between Eden and Junction and my coworker and I ate at Side Oats. I had some fabulous chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes that was totally worth starving myself so I could have 17 points for dinner.

The second restaurant was a bit of a disappointment. We drove across town to have dinner and was told it was a Thai restaurant. Again - I had about 17 points to spare so I knew I could have some awesome Pad Thai. Only no - it was Vietnamese. No Thai was to be found on the menu. Played it safe and had some mediocre hot and sour soup followed by some bland chicken and broccoli (yeah, played it safe on the main dish). I even opted for the fried instead of steam rice. BOR-ING. Yeah. Total waste of my 17 points. The egg roll though - yummy.

I'm sure I've done some more stuff, but haven't looked at the list yet. Check it for a complete update.

Of course I can't end a blog post without something amusing so I'll leave you all with these randoms:

Scrawled on a bathroom stall in Junction, TX - "Mitt Romney VP 2008!"

Me with no shoes on as our VP gives a tour to a potential director.

John, telling me he scraped the sausage off the top of the gravy (from the leftover biscuits and gravy I made well over a week ago) to add to his nachos a la Step Brothers (meaning tortilla chips covered in shredded cheese and microwaved).

Winning $8 in Bunco tonight. I chose not to participate in the roll off that the other 3 girls I tied with wanted to do. I rather go home with something (I left $2 poorer than I came in) than nothing at all.

I did the trying on Spanx dance for 3 of my coworkers. One was male and didn't quite get it.

Got to sleep in 3 days in a row this week. Tonight John tells me, "if you tell me you get to sleep in tomorrow I'm going to punch you in the face" you too babe! (Really he hates being the one that makes the coffee in the morning)

I have a yummy recipe for Eggplant Parmesan I'm trying tomorrow. Mmmm....

Shit Head
escaped 6 times this past week. He's lucky to still be alive....

I saw gas this morning for $3.83. Even though I didn't need any it was really hard not to stop.
