Birthday Pictures

A few pictures from Monday night at the Saucer. Thanks for coming out to celebrate with me everyone!

John got me my very own Post Secret book!

Yes - it took 4 people to light all those candles!

See all that smoke? 26 candles baby.

I was FORCED to shove a whole piece of cake in my mouth.

My New Favorite Thing

I could eat these things every day for the rest of my life. In fact, a GIANT BOX of them for a birthday gift would take you to the top of my ultimate favorite gift giver list.

I mean read the description of these things: a fluffy cloud of mint surrounded by a thick layer of sweet milk chocolate. They don't call these suckers Mint Dreams for nothin'!

The true story behind them is that I gave one to John in his Christmas stocking. He busted it out tonight, took one bite and said, "mmmm..." and unselfishly offered me a bite. I took one little nibble and was in heaven! I hoarded it and moved as far away from him as the couch would allow. I think the only reason he didn't try to take it back was because he couldn't stop laughing at my mouth that had quickly become covered in a fluffy cloud of mint dream.

Russell Stover, you are and evil, evil man.

St. Patty's Day!

A few pictures to share:

John and I celebrating Erin's Bday

A St Patty's Bday would not be complete without an Irish Car Bomb.

Showin' our Irish Bling and throwin' our gang signs at the Saucer.

This was the Dirty Old Irish guy who sang Frank Sinatra songs to us all evening.

And finally, no St. Patty's Celebration can be complete without someone doing an Irish Jig.

It's sooooo hot

I want to take off all my clothes and lay on a nice, cool, tile floor.

This article just made my day

Of course my pizza will not be thin crust nor topped with tons of veggies....

Pizza for Breakfast? Yes!
By Lucy Danziger, SELF Editor-in-Chief

I know what you're thinking: pizza? For breakfast? But the truth is that you can crack open last night's leftovers in the a.m. if you want to.

I know lots of women who skip breakfast, and they have a ton of different excuses for doing it. Some say they don't have time, others think they're "saving" calories by eliminating a meal, still others just don't like breakfast food.

But the bottom line is, eating in the morning is crucial when you're trying to trim down. "Eating just about anything in the range of 300 to 400 calories would be better than nothing at all," says SELF contributor Katherine Brooking, R.D., who developed the super-easy eating plan for this year's SELF Challenge. And even pizza can be healthy if it's thin-crust, loaded with veggies, and you stick to one slice.Breakfast is one meal I never miss (my favorite morning combo includes Fage nonfat yogurt topped with fresh fruit and low-carb granola, yum!), and the same goes for most weight loss success stories.

Research shows that eating breakfast revs up your metabolism, keeps you from overeating later in the day and may even help sleekify your abs. Researchers at the University of Southern California at Los Angeles found that breakfast skippers have bigger tummies than those who regularly have a morning meal. So eat something in the morning, anything. I know plenty of pals who end up forgoing it altogether to have just coffee or cola. I say, try heating up last night's leftovers-it may sound crazy, but if it works for you, do it!

Bonus: I find if I tell myself, "You can always eat it tomorrow," I put away the leftovers instead of eating more that night. Try may save yourself some prebedtime calories. And watch your body reap the fat-burning benefits. What are your favorite breakfast foods?

Ways to Annoy Me

Say, "Faith wake-up" every time you walk past my office. Yeah. That gets old REAL QUICK.

Reply all to mass emailings. Multiple times.

Close the bathroom door! It's a public restroom. I don't care if you're just straightening a tie or picking your teeth. No one wants to see that.

Call me with an urgent need at the end of the day and then leave during the time I say I will call you back.

Things that have recently made me laugh

HA HA! I LOVE IT! Can you get the picture any clearer? I would love to print it and frame it.

My Week, In a Nutshell

Coming a little late, but I did say I would post something about my week the other day.

Monday: I learned how easily distracted I can be by beer.

Tuesday: Wanna know how you can REALLY annoy me. Reply All to mass emails, repeatedly.

Wednesday: Me - No John, you may not move the kitchen table into the living room so that you have more space to play poker, John - well I wasn't really asking, Me - hysterically laughs

Friday: Other Boleyn Girl with the girls. It's a must see.

Saturday: Home Depot is so overwhelming. It makes me want to cry sometimes.

I could watch Pride and Prejudice over and over again, all day long.

Sunday: Movie Night with John. Atonement - pass, Run Fat Boy Run - see it

Current week's obsession: Must tune in to Mix two times per day to see if they will pay my bills. Sad, I know.

Ponder This......

My check card is signed up to one of those points programs. It's just another one of those things that I don't really pay attention to. Well today I decided to log in and see just how many points I have. 35,000! Go me! Until I realize that the 35,000 is tied to actual dollars spent. I've decided that I will continue to save and get myself a $100 gift card to Ruth Chris. This comes with a, points tag of 41,500. So for spending $41,500 I can go to Ruth Chris! It was either dinner out or save until I get to 46,000 and can get $100 to Target. Now that makes sense.
